About us

Women and young farmers at the heart of change

Rooted in Mbeya, MAo is working toward a future where women and young people can build livelihoods through sustainable agriculture.

About us

Who we are

MAo is a nongovernmental organization founded to support women and young farmers in Tanzania. Its constitution sets out an ambition to address food insecurity, climate change, losses from limited farming knowledge, lack of market access, and youth unemployment.

The constitution places the head office in Uyole, Mbeya District, Mbeya Region. It describes Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar as the intended area of operation.

Our constitution describes the challenges we want to address and the communities we intend to serve. As our work grows, we will share verified activities and results here.

These details come from the first edition of the MAo constitution, dated 2024.
